DHHS Students Tour Arizona Universities

Written by Cougar Press Staff

A large group of Desert Hills students recently visited the campus of Arizona State University, and in upcoming weeks trips to Northern Arizona University and Chandler Gilbert Community College are also planned for the Cougars.

“Students really get a lot out of these trips,” said Fawn Eaton, Desert Hills’ Director of Academic Services. “This is a real opportunity for them to get a sense of what life is like on the campus of a major university.” On March 26, students and Desert Hills instructors visited ASU’s Tempe campus.

The ASU tour brought the reality of college to life,” said Sariah Bunker, a DHHS 11th grader. “I learned a lot.” Bunker plans to attend community college after graduation, and then transfer to a university in Hawaii.

DHHS students will travel to Chandler Gilbert Community College on Thursday, April 8, and to NAU in Flagstaff on Friday, April 16. To sign up for a trip, or for more information, contact the school offices at 480-813-1151.
